I was looking through a 1997 issue of Big Brother the other day for things to scan when I came across this ad. If you were a skater from Staten Island, New York in the late nineties you definitely knew this company. JADE was started by Anthony Ianiro and was the first skateboard company to be born in the fifth borough. Anthony used to hook us all up with great prices on his boards and the Jade Cracked logo is one of my all time favourite shapes.

In 1997 DC released the Rick Howard shoe and it was the shit! They felt so good to skate in with that quilted interior and looked sick, definitely one of my all time faves.

The first is a Kareem Campbell, I believe this was his first pro model and the second is a Chris Pastras . If I ever come across a pic of the Jason Lee I will post it.

The Blind " Warner Bros " rip off series from 1992 will always be a favourite of mine. I love how Ol Foghorn Leghorn looks like he just smoked a big fat spliff behind the barn! They did receive a cease & desist letter about these graphics. Along with the many others it ended up as wall paper, shit roll, an ad, something to break weed on, spit ball ammo etc.

REAL Jim Thiebaud slick graphic c.1992. It was an update of one of his earlier boards that was released a couple of years before. It also showed a racist bastard hanging from a tree but it was not as " colourful " as this one.
